The game continues the traditions of the famous series "Behind Enemy Lines 2" and the historical strategy "Black jackets". The real-time strategy "Penal Battalion" was created on the basis of the memoirs of front-line soldiers and other documentary materials. It reveals the history of a separate penalty (officer) battalion of the Central, and later Belorussian, front. For a long time it was not customary to talk about them, and they themselves were instructed not to talk about themselves and their actions during the Great Patriotic War. Penalties involuntarily became the heroes of many hard-hitting myths that have developed around the order of the People´s Commissar of Defense of the USSR No. 227 of July 27, 1942, also known as Stalin´s order "Not a step back." The ban on official information about penal battalions and companies, as well as barrage detachments, which operated during the war and for many years after its end, gave rise to a lot of rumors and idle speculation. Often they were based only on distorted impressions of people who had heard of these units by the edge of their ears. It´s time to find out the truth about the courage of the soldiers of the penal battalion. They traveled a heroic path from the Kursk Bulge to Berlin itself, and in order to accomplish the feat, they did not need the machine guns of the barrage detachments behind their backs.

• Unknown heroes. The game highlights little-known facts about the Soviet fighters of the penal battalion, which was formed from officers convicted of crimes, violations of military discipline or were in captivity
• Command plans. The plot campaign, covering the events of 1943-1945, includes fourteen different military operations - from line defense to massive enemy attacks
• Geography of the feat. Fierce battles within the framework of large-scale hostilities of Soviet troops will unfold on the Kursk Bulge, in Belarus, Ukraine, Poland and Germany
• By all means. The main units in the game are infantrymen of various military specialties, however, it will also be possible to use tanks, armored vehicles, self-propelled guns, mortars and other artillery in operations, and occasionally also fighters, bombers and landing craft
• Invaluable information. The in-game encyclopedia, compiled on the basis of historical documents and eyewitness accounts by the author of the series of books "I fought ..." Artem Drabkin, will tell in detail about the events reflected in the project and reveal many interesting facts that refute the myths about penal battalions
