Lone Fungus is a true Metroidvania set in a world created by fungi where you play as the last remaining fungus. Explore the ancient world, acquire new abilities and discover secrets!

Study
There are ten different areas to explore, each with its own unique set of enemies and obstacles. If you are willing to explore every nook and cranny of every area, you will discover many secrets and earn well-deserved rewards. As you research, you´ll receive significant upgrades in the form of relics, emblems, and upgrades to your health or sanity. These improvements will undoubtedly be valuable to any player. The battle
Combat in Lone Fungus is simplistic but has depth in terms of customization. For example, you can parry anything that would normally damage you, but parrying incoming projectiles in particular will cause you to shoot back at enemies. However, you are never forced to parry, and you can even change how the parry system works by installing emblems!

Emblems are items that you will find throughout the world. Equipping an emblem can change the behavior of a parried projectile, such that you can hit enemies but deal less damage. Or instead of bouncing off your hat, you´ll deal damage to whatever´s close to you. There´s even an emblem of a whirlwind that destroys multiple projectiles around the player.

Build improvements and settings
In addition to emblems, the game features relics, which work very similarly to the spell system in Hollow Knight. Some of them change the effect of your healing, while others increase the sword´s damage or provide additional defense. There are 60 relics in the game, and you choose what your strengths will be. You can create truly specialized builds, focusing on defense, healing, speed, melee attacks, or spell casting!

Plus, there are permanent upgrades you get as you fight bosses, from spells to new moves and attack types!

Bosses
In Lone Fungus, you can fight and defeat 28 bosses to gain new abilities. My goal is to create fun and equitable boss fights that can be won without taking any damage from the boss. To achieve this goal, I develop different attack patterns for each boss and give clear instructions before striking.

Platforming
Lone Fungus is essentially a precision platformer, but it doesn´t force you to complete overly difficult platforming missions to advance in the game. Instead, all platforming challenges are limited to optional extra rooms, allowing you to enjoy the game as a Metroidvania-style adventure game focused on combat and exploration, while still benefiting from the precise controls that come with a high-fidelity platformer. However, if you´re inclined to master the game´s hardcore mechanics, there are training rooms where you can hone your skills and tackle some of the toughest platforming challenges the game has to offer.
