Los Suenos - STATE OF EMERGENCY: Los Suenos Police Department Chief Galo Alvarez goes on air with an urgent message about the state of the city after Hurricane Antonio. Hurricane Antonio, a Category 5 hurricane, has caused massive destruction and environmental damage. High winds and heavy rains have affected much of the county. Patrol units have been put on alert and checkpoints have been set up. Fire and rescue triage centers have been set up at major hospitals where possible. Temporary homeless shelters have been set up outside of the affected areas and on the slopes of the Sierra del Suenos. Looting has increased and LSPD SWAT has been deployed as part of the disaster response.
Areas with confirmed cases of looting and civil unrest:
GREENSIDE - Enormous aftermath of the hurricane. Many homeless people are seeking shelter because the streets are unsafe. Barricade your windows and doors. Use extreme caution when interacting with strangers on private property.
PARK 213 - Severe aftermath of the hurricane. Increased gang activity has been confirmed, with a very high chance of gang-related violence. Do not show any contact with them and avoid crowds on the streets. Stay indoors, away from windows and breakable objects.
REDWOOD - Moderate aftermath of the hurricane. There is an organized movement of possible looters in the area. Lock gates and fences, hide valuables. Keep generators in secluded but well-ventilated areas. Take all measures to protect against theft. Personal safety should be your priority. Be alert and report any suspicious activity to the police.
We are distributing FN 509 pistols and MP17 and DDM4 PDW carbines from the latest shipments to help ensure safety during disaster relief efforts in unpredictable conditions and confined spaces.
