Jeff Minter returns with a new unique take on the 1980s Atari arcade game "I, Robot". Reimagined in Minter´s signature onslaught of colors, shapes and sounds, the new version of the eclectic arcade is built from the ground up with new challenges, new twists and a whole host of weapons.
The premise of I, Robot is simple: you control a bull-headed robot to outsmart an all-seeing eye. Each level will have you moving across tiles, flipping each one to move on to the next. Make sure you don’t jump when the eye is looking at you, or you’ll instantly get electrocuted. If you manage to pass a tile, you’ll race down a pipe, blasting any enemy figures that come your way and try to stop you. And you have to do all this inside the 3D space of Minter’s kaleidoscopic visualizer.
Don’t get too comfortable, Minter has also added a few arena levels where you’ll have to pick and choose from a slew of deadly enemies.
At its core, this is a game that only Lamasoft could make. The cacophony of colors dazzles the eyes, and the music gradually swells in response to your progress. If you´re looking for a break from the arcade action, head over to the non-game mode where you can channel your inner Jeff Minter and play around with all the sights and sounds from the game.
