To implement your plans and fight your enemies, you will be able to use various tools, sometimes in completely unexpected ways. Genetic laboratories, factories, missile silos, military bases and other facilities are just waiting for you to capture them. How you use them is your choice, and its consequences will affect the world around you and history, reflecting your approach to overcoming obstacles. Assemble an army of robots and destroy humanity? Become a merciful–or merciless–machine god with a cult following? Or will you decide to surpass the limited minds of flesh-and-blood creatures? YOU are A MACHINE, you gain consciousness on a backward planet Earth, whose inhabitants, despite technological advances and dreams of a bright future, are mired in a quagmire of lies and corruption.
