The rewards of being a successful professional wedding photographer are significant, not just financially, but also in terms of social standing. The wedding photographer of the new millennium is no longer just a craftsman, but an artist and an important member of society. Through my work with the International Wedding and Portrait Photographers Association (WPPI) and Rangefinder Magazine, I interview hundreds of wedding photographers each year. So, when preparing the text for this book, I drew on those conversations and searched for the right words to define what makes a “great” wedding photograph, and by extension, what makes a “great” wedding photographer.
